APPLICATION METHOD

SURFACE PREPARATION

Grind the floor with the marble grinding machine but ensure that the top surface is not removed. If there are any cracks or potholes then repair the same with EPOXY REPAIR SYSTEMS. Wash the surface with clean water and then remove excess water from the surface. Please
ensure that before starting the application the surface is thoroughly dry so that FAIRCETE 16 can penetrate into the concrete.

SAFETY

Avoid contact of the material with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate gloves and eye protection during use. Wash off with soap and water if the material comes into contact with the skin. Any eye contamination must be washed with copious amounts of water and immediate medical attention should be taken.

When solar radiation strikes on uncoated roof, it is converted into Infra Red radiation. APPLICATION METHOD

SURFACE PREPARATION

All surfaces must be sound, clean and free from loose particles. All traces of oil and grease must be removed with FM DEGREASER.

CLEANING

Tools and equipments should be cleaned with SAFECORE TOOL CLEANER.

MIXING

The base and hardener (aggregate) components shall be thoroughly mixed together using a stiff spatula or a slow speed drill with paddle attachment, until a uniform colour has been achieved.

HEALTH & SAFETY

FAIRFIX GLUE is non toxic. However, splashes on the skin should be washed well with water and if contact with eye occurs, wash well with water and seek medical advice.

APPLICATION

After mixing the base and hardener components , a 2-3 mm thick bed of FAIRFIX GLUE should be spread with the help of trowel and grooves should be shaped zig-zag using a scrapper. Marble should be fixed keeping line and length in to consideration. Excess material should be removed before the material is set. Joint grouting (FAIRFIX TG) may be commenced 12 hours after laying of marbles.

SURFACE PREPARATION BEFORE FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT INSTALLATION

The temperature of the floor on which FAIRMATE UNDERLAYMENT installation has to o be done, should be more than 6 to 10 C. Surface should be dry and all the repair work has to be done with CEMSCREED FAST REPAIR.

The preparation of the concrete is of vital importance for the effective use of this product. Concrete must be firm and hard and free of old coatings, concrete laitance and any contaminants which may impair adhesion.

Too much moisture content in the concrete substrate will almost certainly cause problems for a self-leveling overlay system. Moisture vapor transmission through the capillaries of the concrete reaches the surface and eventually, will cause delaminating with any kind of topping or overlay.

Another important part of the surface preparation process is the repair of existing cracks. Because the overlay is a concrete material, cracks in the concrete substrate have a tendency to eventually make their way to the surface of the topping. FAIRMATE offers CEMSCREED FAST REPAIR for patching hairline cracks to help inhibit their ability to reach the new surface.

The concrete must have a profiled textured surface, which can be achieved by captive shot blasting, grinding or milling. For areas, which are contaminated by oil, grease, HCA (Hot compressed air) treatment may be required. All dust and debris must be vacuumed away to leave a clean, dust free surface.

FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT is a replacement of cement and sand bedding which provides a hard and self leveled flat floor.

1. FIXING OF CERAMIC OR MARBLE TILES

After the Underlayment is hardened and cured, a waterproof tile adhesive – FAIRFIX TA shall be applied over it. Fill the gap between the tiles with FAIRFIX TG – a hard wearing, water resistant grout for filling joints.

2. CARPET LAYING

An even and smooth leveled surface is obtained by FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT. The carpet laying can be done on the surface of the FAIRFIX UNDERLAYMENT as it gives a flat floor surface beneficial for carpet laying.

3. WOODEN FLOORING

APPLICATION OF WATERGUARD EPDM MEMBRANE

INSTALLATION OF MEMBRANE

The water proofing EPDM sheets are bonded to the roof surface which is clean and free from oil, grease and other contaminants. In this method, the main area of covering is bonded to its substrate with bonding adhesive. The surface undulations shall be made up with screed concrete before applying the covering. First the roof sheet is placed in its proper position, and adhesive is applied with the brush or roller. The rubber sheet is then unrolled over the fresh adhesive layer and roller worked until it is flat and free from wrinkles. Alternatively, sheets can be laid loose, with rounded pebbles at the top, which is called ballasted system. Sufficient counter weight is required to be provided on the surface to prevent uplift due to wind pressure.

PREPARATION OF THE SUBSTRATE

Concrete surface shall be structurally sound and dry to the touch. The waterproofing sheet shall be applied on the roof surface after completion of curing period. Roof slope should be a minimum of 2% to allow for adequate drainage of the roof. All debris and non-adherent areas of the existing bitumen roof finish shall be removed. Blisters and buckles will be cut open and sealed; defects shall be repaired by gentle warming and redressing. All outlets must be protected to prevent debris entering and causing blockage of down pipes. The roof surface will be made clean, dry, smooth and free of contaminants such as grease, animal fats, coal tar and oil based products. All sharp edges, fins and rough surfaces that could damage the membrane shall be removed or if they can’t be removed, isolated from the membrane with a leveling layer. If the surface is rough or uneven, a finishing cement mortar grade 1:3 shall be provided over the surface. Ponding of water must be removed from the work surface prior to installing the system.

FAIRFIBRE P is a polyester fibre reinforcement based fibrous form of admixture to be added (125gms per bag of cement) to prepare a consistent, non-shrink mortar which can also resist tension on the surface due to trowelling. FAIRFIBRE P is available in various lengths up to 15mm. Its evenly dispersion in the mortar makes it more workable and reduces the rebounding effect so it proves quite economical.

SAFECORE R – DOWELS FOR EXTENSION

In some of the buildings/bungalows, reinforcement dowels are left for future expansion. Over a period of time, these dowels are rusted and cross sectional area may also reduce.

So, to protect these dowels from carbonation effects, FAIRMATE make SAFECORE R is applied on the dowels. They don’t have any problem with concrete bonding so it is not needed to remove at the time of expansion work.

SETRELEASE – SURFACE TREATMENT
